A prequel to Vanguard, set on distant Elyndor, a planet inhabited by humanoid Elyndorians and ruled by the expansionist Elyndorian Empire. Led by Emperor Aleric and an entrenched elite, the technologically superior empire invades less advanced worlds and forces their populations into submission. The story follows Elyndor’s everyday life, the empire’s fall, Gorganoth’s rise, the civil war, the great exodus, and Gorganoth’s search for Aldina, revealing the history that eventually connects Elyndor to Earth and Vanguard.
