A ruthless vampire queen named Elise is drawn to Jacob, an exceptionally intelligent but uncertain 18-year-old about to start college. After years of vivid dreams linking them, Elise finds him in a restaurant, just as government vampire hunters close in. Jacob must uncover their shared past and decide whether to become a day walker or risk becoming the powerful vampire destined to rule beside Elise. Alan, an elite government swordsman, arrives to stop Elise but reaches Jacob too late. When Jacob escapes both of them, Alan must help him become a day walker and join the government’s elite force against Elise’s plan to make him an ancient vampire sovereign.
