"Just Wanted A Cheap House, Now I've Got a Harem."

Romance · Comedy · Supernatural · 11 episodes

Skip Thunnus moves from Canada to Shakotan, Hokkaido, hoping an affordable seaside house will give him a fresh start. At the airport, he is taken to a municipal office and told by Representative Hiromi Sato that his new citizenship makes him a mandatory participant in Japan’s Repopulation Initiative, officially designated as Shakotan’s breeding bull. Adult women may proposition him, but he has full discretion to refuse, and nobody may violate his body or property without consent. The program offers participants major financial, medical, childcare, and tax benefits, while Skip faces escalating penalties if he does not confirm a pregnancy within the required time, though new participants receive a three-month grace period. He may establish boundaries and rules, and may cohabit with up to three women in a harem whose members receive lifetime benefits and manage the household. Watching over the peninsula is Princess Charenka, an Ainu local legend and ghost who bestows deep, unyielding love on those she touches. Invisible to everyone except Skip, she quietly directs fate, nudging him and the town’s determined women toward clumsy, suggestive romantic disasters. Skip only sees her in the instant before something ecchi happens, and afterward she answers his panic with a mischievous smile before vanishing. With his identification, a chauffeur, a cheap seaside house, a town full of determined women, and a ghostly director of romantic chaos, Skip tries to survive a bright, warm, comedy-first nightmare of unwanted attention and escalating romantic chaos.
