An occult teenage boy secretly defends his town from monsters, demons, and other supernatural threats. Sleep deprivation has made Amon Vale look frightening, though he is gentle and peaceful. He has made deals with certain demons to keep the town safe, including surrendering his sleep so a dream-bound demon can remain inside his dream world instead of invading others and trapping them in comas. She feeds on dreams, growing stronger when people sleep or fall into comas, but Amon becomes her endless supply of food, unknowingly trapping her within his dreams. Everyone calls him a freak. His parents push him into working part-time as a concierge at The Mourning Inn, forcing him to juggle his protector life, hotel work, and ordinary teenage life. He finds comfort in hot tea and occult books. When word spreads through the supernatural community, demons and other beings begin checking into The Mourning Inn to investigate him.
