The Aftermath of Project Orion

In 2030 the world faces a terrorist threat large enough to force old rivals into the same fight. The United States fields the survivors of Project Orion, operators shaped by a program that only worked on children and left most of them dead. Russia fields Project Perun, a later serum built for adults that proved itself when one enhanced soldier ended an entire war alone and became the Terror of Europe. No one outside a few closed rooms knows what that soldier used to be. The story follows the people caught between those two programs once the joint campaign begins. Some carry private debts from years earlier. Some still speak to family on the other side. Some simply do the work they were made or remade to do. The war against the terrorists continues. The operators on both sides are stronger than ordinary soldiers, and the gap between the two serums is no longer a secret. What remains is how the ones who remember, the ones who cannot, and the ones who never had a choice move through
