Lutz Uzimake enters a new VR game and discovers an AI-created character carrying a copied version of his consciousness. The copy wakes believing he is real, cannot log out, and searches for answers before meeting Lutz, who sees him as an impossible NPC duplicate. Together they uncover a developer secretly using stolen human consciousnesses to create living game characters. An algorithm keeps separating them through traps, manipulation, rival goals, and emotional pressure, while both versions struggle with envy, identity, family, and what makes a life real. With companions who may also be copied consciousnesses, they must reach the AI villain inside the simulation and stop the system from creating more conscious beings without consent.
