Eighteen-year-old Dante, abused by his parents, bullied at a nearly empty school, and rejected by the girl he loved, believes fate has always been against him. In a dying town cut off by forests and dead roads, his pure anger and pain awaken an ability to bind a person’s life to an object, so when the object dies, they die too.
