Beckoned by exile

In a post-apocalyptic world, genetic modification has created peoples beyond humanity. With technology lost, much of the world has fallen back into medieval conditions. A few countries are ruled by eternal but severely constrained, sickly leaders who work to slow progress. Adam awakens in pain inside a hidden underground ruin, surrounded by silent pods. He remembers only his name and a voice telling him to find Eve.
