The high priests of Solomon the Conqueror and the scribes to the descendants of Empress Yuuko tell ballads to symbolize the fates that bind the offspring of the conqueror and the empress. In a realm distant from Earth and Apocrypha, a legion of men fight against tribes who dare oppose them. But within those onslaughts a demon of unknown origin has cursed the lands of this distant realm. In the cursed borderlands between Rome and the tribes it would devour, a stoic young warrior hunts a demon born from the land's suffering — only to discover that how she faces her end matters more than whether she survives it.
