In 1708, Anora Rosewater commands The Red Queen, a fierce pirate ship with blood-red sails, while pursuing freedom, lost treasure, and the dream of living forever. After invading Port Jenny, a British naval port, her crew kidnaps the governor’s daughter, believing the governor holds a map to ancient Aztec gold. Anora joined the pirate life at 21 and became captain four years ago. At 23, she joined the Pirate’s Court, a council of pirate captains from around the world. Little is known about her past: rumors claim she fled British prosecution, followed a pirate mother, or escaped a confining marriage. Now 25, she sails toward riches, immortality, and whatever truth lies behind the rumors.
