Crip: Take 2

Damen, a light-skinned Black man from Chicago with a hardened street background, dies in a shootout and is judged guilty by a heavenly council. Goddess Chloe defends him, earning punishment: she must accompany him to a modern world of magic with her powers weakened. There, Damen awakens shadow abilities, including shadow daggers, shadow travel, and a talking timber wolf companion named Midnight who can grow enormous. Damen and Chloe build a team with a shy cat girl facing beastfolk discrimination, a hooded girl, and a famous social media influencer while taking quests, rebuilding Damen’s reputation, and learning to work together.
