Dark Knight

Mariah is your typical college athlete - trying to manage her grades and sports performance as well as approval from her parents. When her anxiety builds to a breaking point causing her to be hospitalized, Mariah finds herself caught in what she thinks is a vivid hallucination from a medication she was given, only to later find out she is at the mercy of a sorcerer, who pulls her from her life and into a different world. On a far away world where magic is used to measure worth and status, humans and fey alike battle for power. Mariah, eager for a break from her previous life stressors, is offered a choice to compete in a magical trial in what she thinks is a strange dream- only to find out she has made a very real mistake.
