Last Man on Earth

In the 1960s, astronaut Elias Voss enters Earth's atmosphere in a damaged space shuttle, frantically trying to land and contact NASA. NASA never answers, only returning a strange sound identical to the relentless pounding behind the cockpit door. He eventually makes an emergency landing near an isolated desert town, where the mystery follows him to the ground.
