MANTLEFALL

MANTLEFALL is a dark shonen anime in 62-second vertical episodes across twelve inhabited planets, each beneath an unreachable black twin world. Six worlds hold twelve living Mantles, Bright and Dark halves of six gods torn apart in the Split: Hope and Despair, Joy and Grief, Serenity and Rage, Love and Isolation, Pride and Shame, Courage and Fear. Each Mantle chooses a Bearer and demands the Inheritance, where they relive the previous Bearer’s memories and fight that Bearer’s ghost. Mantle power consumes memory, feeding a chorus of stolen voices that gradually sounds like the host. Memories become embedded gems or Stillkins, creatures rare Tamers can bond with by recognizing what they were. Dabenzo and Trovious, nineteen-year-olds from Ashkelund, have both lost every memory of their families. They become Bearers of Hope and Despair, opposing halves of one god, beginning as enemies while their Mantles steer them toward fusion. Every use arms a Dark Universe built from forgotten things, whose people can speak the forgotten back into existence. Above both universes is a Supreme Universe and its Supreme God, who caused the Split as a prison. Everything was once one thing and was torn in two, and nobody remembers because remembering was the first thing eaten. Every power system is another way to lose who you are. The series is high-spectacle action rooted in identity horror, with transformations treated as tragedy rather than triumph.
