At an elite martial arts high school, Jay Hanzo, a tall, quiet, humble African American fighter with dreadlocks and full tattoos on both arms, enters ranked matches, rivalries, and a harem of powerful students drawn to him. Homeschooled and trained by his legendary martial artist father, he fights with freestyle karate blended with Wing Chun, Taekwondo, and Jeet Kune Do. Outside combat he is gentle and reserved, but fighting flips him into a confident, rough competitor.
