Rune World

In a world where octagonal magical runes grant powers, each rune is carved from a chosen material and marked with a symbol derived from the word it represents. Months later, the symbol awakens. Better materials can produce stronger runes, but exceptional ones are rare. Every rune has a practical use, even mundane ones, and none can be controlled without being plugged into a tool or weapon that channels its power. In a poor village, four young workers run the local rune factory to support their community. The blue-haired girl is the main character, wielding a sword fitted with a falcon rune that summons an ordinary falcon to obey her commands. Her blond-haired best friend and two other near-family coworkers, a slightly older white-haired boy and another blond-haired girl, grew up in the factory alongside their parents, who have since died or retired.
