SCARLET HUNGER

In 2198, humanity survives inside fortified Citadels after the Red Bloom experiment unleashed Devourers, shapeless monstrosities that consume living creatures, plants, and engineered materials to mutate stronger. Scarlet Cores are symbiotic organisms grafted to handpicked humans, connecting through the arm and nervous system to form Scarlet Arms. A successful bond can kill its host, and most survivors lose their minds. Scarlet Arms constantly hunger and influence their wielders, driving some Reapers toward madness. The rare few who remain themselves are called Reapers. Each Scarlet Arm creates a unique weapon with its own abilities. Unit 9 is one of many Reaper squads operating from the Black Star Citadel.
