Story of two

William and Nora begin as childhood friends who are not yet close. After William's family dies in a past war, Nora's father, Emperor and General Augustus Bruce I, takes him in and adopts him. Bruce expects William to join the military, but William refuses, damaging the one bond that kept him in Bruce's favor. As public pressure, shared danger, and quiet moments draw William and Nora together, friendship becomes love, while Bruce's disapproval makes their eventual marriage harder to reach.
