I punched Zeus and now people hate me!

In a medieval world of myth and magic, the gods of Olympus seize Earth, seduced by humanity’s city-states and worshippers. They are arrogant and alluring, but humanity has been diminished by sin. The first men, Cainan and Avel, oppose Olympus: Cainan is the father of farming, war, and the city-state, while Avel is the father of shepherds, defense, and funeral rites. Though the brothers’ ancient antagonism began when Cainan killed Avel over jealousy of his sacrifice, both now surpass Olympus in strength and magic because Earth was made for humanity. Cainan sees Olympus as an outlet for his anger at the hidden Creator and believes himself righteous. He rejects the Creator’s authority rather than the Creator’s existence, elevating human labor, self-rule, and what people make with their own hands into a substitute for worship. Avel returns to his quiet pastoral life and worships the Creator. Each direct clash leaves Olympus defeated and its place on Earth uncertain. In the final battle, Cainan raises an army of the undead against Olympus and its human followers, but Avel’s final prayer commits himself, Cainan, and the undead to the void before the world is wiped out.
