Yokai: Resurgence

For centuries, Yokai existed only as legends, monsters, spirits, and demons believed to have vanished from the world. Now they’re returning. As supernatural incidents spread, the Occult Neutralization Initiative deploys gifted humans born with Kishō, supernatural abilities used to hunt the creatures emerging from the shadows. At the center is Grim, an adrenaline-addicted O.N.I. operative who shapes darkness into deadly weapons and constructs. His squad includes Kryspi, a wisecracking gunslinger and best friend; Fey, a brilliant nature-wielder; Tombstone, a quiet, analytical ice-manipulator; and Fury, Grim’s fiercely protective older sister, whose gravity control can turn a battlefield into a weapon. They are more than a squad, they are friends and family, mixing reckless plans, constant banter, and supernatural battles. When ancient species begin appearing for the first time in centuries, the team uncovers evidence that something brought the Yokai back. Their investigation leads to a buried mystery about what Yokai truly are, why Kishō exist, and whether humanity was ever told the truth about the creatures’ disappearance.
