Rather than rebuild it himself, Vael gathers five terrifyingly powerful women into the Crimson Court. They assassinate kings, crush armies, manipulate nobles, destroy rival vampires, and restore his dominion while he rules from his throne. To his enemies he is a monster; to his followers, he is their Lord. The tone is dark, seductive, ruthless, and regal.
