Armed with his silver blade, *Last Remedy*, and a Graveglass mask capable of revealing supernatural disease, Mattias travels from settlement to settlement diagnosing outbreaks and hunting the creatures they create. But Mattias hides an impossible secret: he contracted the Black Bloom twelve years ago and never transformed. As the infection begins whispering to him, Mattias uncovers evidence that the Black Bloom may not be a disease at all—and the Black Veil may have known the truth from the beginning.
