MORBUS is a dark fantasy anime set in the plague-ravaged continent of Eldren, where a mysterious disease known as the Black Bloom transforms its victims into horrifying creatures called the Blighted. Humanity’s only defense is the Order of the Black Veil, plague doctors trained in medicine, alchemy, and monster hunting. Among them is **Mattias Angelo**, a gifted young doctor who refuses to abandon a patient while they still draw breath. Armed with his silver blade, *Last Remedy*, and a Graveglass mask capable of revealing supernatural disease, Mattias travels from settlement to settlement diagnosing outbreaks and hunting the creatures they create. But Mattias hides an impossible secret: he contracted the Black Bloom twelve years ago and never transformed. As the infection begins whispering to him, Mattias uncovers evidence that the Black Bloom may not be a disease at all—and the Black Veil may have known the truth from the beginning.
