The kingdom is starving. The Queen is not. She demands a grand banquet to celebrate a prosperity that exists only in her gut. Ser Lancelo, the Queen's favored knight, must traverse the kingdoms in search of the rarest ingredients - a dragons's heart, leviathan roe, and a basilisk's eye, to name a few. Lancelo is genuinely good, devoted to a fault, and utterly blind to the Queen's corruption - revising every atrocity as justified royal duty. Forced to accompany him is Ichaboda Crone, the kingdom's shrewd, sharp-tongued Mistress of Coin, former smuggler, and keeper of a The Ledger. This darkly comedic anime about blind loyalty and the distance between duty and conscience follows their journey through starving villages, dragon lairs, and high seas adventure - one impossible ingredient at a time.
